You, the hero, have slayed a giant beast! But the fiend, with its dying breath, cursed you and you've lost your sense of sight. You now need to find your way out of the cave and back to your home, using only the sounds of your surroundings.

Return in Echoes is inspired by the sound that plays when you walk into a wall in Pokemon.

I highly recommend playing this game with the sound turned on.

Controls:

Movement - WASD / Arrow keys

Interaction - Space / Enter

Return in Echoes has 3 areas:

Cave of Darkness - It's an open area so get walking! The exit is at the very bottom of the map.

The Encircling Forest - A really large forest, with many branching and looped paths. Your home is somewhere near the middle. There are various lakes, ponds, and water bodies around to help you find your way. You might want to make a map if you're not good with directions.

Home - Curses! Why are you so messy? Oh well, you can definitely find a way to the back of the house, right?

The game keeps track of how long you take to get home. The timer starts after the intro cutscene and ends right when the end screen graphic pops up.

My record: 1m 18s

I actually had to draw a map for the forest :p

Loved the end illustration!

I actually enjoyed painting a map in my mind on the first level. On the second level, I got lost about which sound is the sound of the wall and which sound is walking, but I got excited when I found water, a nice addition.

Interesting concept, and with adding a narrator to texts (ai voice-over?) and keyboard navigation to the menu it will be accessible for the visually impaired!  There is a RPG for blind people called Hero's Call, if you would like to find out more about this
